Between the overwhelming support of the community and the high level of dedication and hard work ethic of our students, we could not ask for more. • Defense leads Bowie to bi-district win over Round Rock

  Two defensive touchdowns in the third quarter propelled Bowie to a 27-17 bi-district victory over Round Rock Friday night at Burger Stadium.

  “It was a good defensive effort,” said Preston Miller, who scored Bowie’s last touchdown on a pick six interception return for a score. Bowie (7-4) moves into the area round to face Spring Westfield (11-0) next Saturday at 2 p.m. in Brenham.

  Shutout in the second half, Bowie (2-4, 0-2) fell to Lake Travis 24-14 Friday night at Burger Stadium. The Cavaliers erased a 14-7 deficit at intermission with two touchdowns and a field goal en route to their second straight district triumph.

  Former longtime Bowie girls basketball coach and current AISD Assistant Athletic Director Lynn Davis Pool is having a year to remember. For her career in coaching, Pool was recently inducted into both the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) and Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) Halls of Fame.

  Klein Collins (30-4) concluded the Bowie softball team’s season with an 8-5 victory over the Lady Dawgs en route to the state tournament last weekend. Bowie (20-8) finishes a successful 2012 campaign that featured a third place finish in district and a first round 5-3 playoff win over Round Rock McNeil. On Sunday, June 6th, the team held their annual banquet at Creekside Pavillion.
